The Fire is still burning

We woke this morning to a strong smell of smoke & fire...but we are still in our home. The fire in our area is only 5% contained with heavy winds expected today. I was glued to the television until about 1:30 this morning and as soon as we were up we were back to our places in front of the TV.

Here are some photos of the thick layer of ash that is covering our home and our city.

Oh wow. I forgot how the ash just falls everywhere. You guys are in my prayers. I hope they can get it contained asap!

your home is so beautiful - that fire better not even think about getting near it. :)

Whoa... I guess the 1st half of my comment got deleted.

It also said that Ryan & I didn't even go out Saturday night, we just stayed home & were glued to the news too. Margaux Windes (Scott & Sarah's niece) asked her mom, "Mommy, when are we gonna be done watching the fire show on T.V.?"

We had ashes all the way at our place in Long Beach!!!
You took amazing pictures! I couldn't believe that there was a fire burning in Yorba Linda and Brea!

You got a little taste of what it is like to live in Thousand Oaks. It's amazing how far heavy ash can float. I think the freakiest part is the red hue smoke clouds give off. Let's hope the rain doesn't bring the hills down in Yorba Linda.
