Honeymoon with a Killer

Back in January 1997, I photographed the wedding of Rebecca & Bruce Cleland. In July 1997...just 7 months later Bruce was killed in an 'attempted car jacking'.

When I heard he had died I knew that Rebecca was involved. (You will need to read the book to find out how I knew)

After calling the police, helping in obtaining a search warrant and her arrest, testifying at her first trail and then again at a 2nd trial (after she had a successful appeal) the book is now available for sale next week.

Everyone I told this amazing story too said the same thing. You should write a book. Well I was interview for a book... one from a true crime novelist, Don Lasseter. He had written over a dozen true crime books. After meeting him for the first interview, I read a few of his books. He is a great writer.

I met with him today because he wanted to give me a couple of copies of this book. I had to laugh when I saw my picture and description in the book.

Wedding Photographer and
"Mormon Mom"??? How funny!

And then again in the Foreword it says "A superior court judge familiar with the facts declared,"This should be a movie or a book. It's got everything-the love triangle, the murder angle, a stripper boyfriend, the gay girlfriend, sister against sister, the innocent Mormon-mom wedding photographer... because we know all good movies and good books include an innocent Mormon-mom : )

Wow. That is crazy. I love the "Mormon Mom" description too, especially the quotation marks. Hilarious. I love crime thrillers. I totally want to read the book. How interesting/a little scary to be involved!

I'm still cracking up over this! I love it, not a real story unless the mormon mom is in there!

You haven't noticed that all good murder stories have a mormon mom involved somewhere. I need to get on the borrow-the-book list.

That's so funny... Rachel was telling me about this. I think I might have to read it. I NEVER read books, or I should say non-text books.

I think snitching is not a thing to be so proud of. But again, that Rebbecka seemed to be so dumb and evil that she probably deserved it.

Oh yea, Rebeccas case is typical example how dumb people just talk themselves into jail. I learned at school that dummies talk what they know and wise know what they talk. Maybe she did not know that. Then there is a saying "Talking- silver, Being silent- gold" She did not know that either. I can not think anything in common between. the Stanford graduate and a spice girl anyway

Rebeccas a piece of filth that belongs in jail for life and she got that. Glad you assisted in the trials. Saw happily never after and he seemed like a great guy. Sad that happened to him

In Beth's defense, what she did was not so much "snitching" as it was voluntarily cooperating as a witness in a murder case, and helping bring about justice for an innocent victim and prosecution of the guilty. I applaud her courage and moral convictions in the actions she took and in the well-thought-out way in which she went about it!

Sad that an innocent man died so violently from the only woman that he loved. That woman Rebecca should get the death penalty. I am glad that you did the right thing, and reported it to the police. The Cleland family got justice and closure. God bless you.
